M1 & D1 - Resubmission

Omniya Tajni M1: Analyse the different approaches used in the identified promos D1: Compare and contrast the messaging within these identified promos  When it comes to watching and analysing trailers, they all have common elements and set of expectations depending on the genre of the film; such as quick cuts between interesting moments in the film and a non-diegetic sound that is parallel to what audio-visual content is presenting. The two examples of trailers that I will be analysing is the 'Mission Impossible: Fallout' & 'Incredibles 2' trailer.  'Mission Impossible: Fallout' is a trailer for an action/adventure film and has fast cuts and transitions between actions scenes as it allows the audience to become interested and intrigued to what is going on, this adds the trailer because it leaves the audience to wonder what will happen, or how things happened. Due to it being a 6th sequel it has the 'signature music' which allows the audience to...

Omniya Tajni M3: Justify the visual and audio effects used within the promo After adding the shots I want to include in my documentary I then added transitions, cuts, title pages and music. In my time line you can see that there are lots of cut away between the interviews and voice overs along with some shots from the film. The reason why I decided to do this was because when the interviewees were talking about a certain shot or something that happened in the film, I thought it will be best to add that particular thing in the evidence, so it can show the audience what they are talking about in case they haven't watched it.  Adding cutaways allowed me to give the audience an indication on what they were talking about and I also thought it would have been a boring documentary if I just put in the whole interview without any evidence from the film, or little clips, because I don't think it would have been engaging enough and it would have led the audience to be frus...

Omniya Tajni D2: Justify the creation process against the original concept documentation I believe that my audio-visual product was heavily influenced by my  planned work. From my mind-map where it came to brainstorming ideas about my documentary to my storyboard and producing the visual predicted idea I had for my documentary.  In the case of my mind map, I added the clear ideas I wanted to include. I knew how I wanted to layout my documentary, which was interviewing the cast and crew members and including shots of the film with voice over of the interview over it. I was able to make this explicit in my mind map and brainstorm the fact that I will be including different shots from the film that link to what the interviewees will be talking about. I also mentioned that I will find a suitable audio track that will flow throughout the documentary. I wanted to add this because I wanted my documentary to be engaging and have some sort of background music, rather than h...

Omniya Tajni P4: Create the production materials in line with the plan After filming my documentary interviews, I had a lot of material to make afterwards before I even started to edit. This is a picture of me recording the interviews: The location I decided to film the interviews in, was in a recording studio in my college. The reason I chose this was because it had a good sitting space, so the talking head interviews would come out right on the shots and in the background of the talking head interviews, there was a mac, on the mac there was the editing version of the film the cast members are talking about. This is the location of where I filmed: After I recorded the footage, I made an edit decision where I wrote down all the footage and decided which one was beneficial to add to my documentary. This is the editing decision, I have recorded after recording the footage for my documentary: After doing this I then decided to sort my footage out in to folders. I made ...

Omniya Tajni P5: Produce an offline edit of the promo Before making my documentary, I imported all the footage I needed for it, this included the interviews from the 3 members of the cast & crew, and then some shots from the film, where the interviewees have spoke about specifically. Here I dragged the interviews on the timeline and the exact shots or cutaways I thought would be suitable to add in between the interview, to explain what they are talking about. This was my offline edit before I added the cuts, transitions, title sequence, title names and music. This offline edit includes my voice asking the questions, however I will be cutting off my voice where the audience can just hear the interviewees voices.

Omniya Tajni M2: Discuss the issues and risks involved in producing the planned promo When it comes to making the documentary, I will be needing to interview some members of the cast and/or crew, before this I will have to get them to sign a consent form, in order for them to give me permission to use the footage in the documentary and for them to not have any problem with their faces showing in the documentary. This will then cause no problems when they see themselves being shown somewhere, because they will know that they agreed to this. This is an important regulatory process because if you don't get them to sign it and they see their face being shown and they aren't comfortable with it, you can get into serious trouble.  After filming the interviews, I will then need to start editing, when editing I made the decision that I would want some background music, to flow with the interview and the shots from the film that I will be using. Before I find the cor...

Omniya Tajni P3: Produce Pre-Production Materials Consent Form Before we even filmed the content of the film 'The Boggart' , we needed consent from the 3 main actors. Here is the evidence for this: Storyboard Before making any media product, you must produce a storyboard as it allows you to see how the shots you want to film will look like, what type of shots you would want to include and any additional sound you would need. This is the storyboard I have produced for my documentary: Location Recce My interview will be taking place in an editing room, before filming the interviews I needed to see which editing room I could use. This is the location recce I carried out for it: Risk Assessment This is carried out in order to identify the potential risks that may occur while filming and what you need to do to prevent them and if they do happen, you need to note down what control measures you ...
