P1: Explain the structure of identified audio-visual promos for different purposes
Film Trailer
A film trailer is a advertisement for a feature film that will be shown in the future at the cinema. Film trailers consist of series of selected shots from the film being advertised, in order for them to attract the audience they usually add in the most exciting , funny and interesting bits without producing any spoilers. However some films use 'special shoot' these are are material that have been created specifically for the advertising purposes and sometimes are not presented in the actual film.
Mission Impossible: Fallout
BBFC has rated this film as 12A and due to the fact that it is the 6th sequel film, it is expected to be very popular, so this film trailer would most likely keep the viewers very impatient and at the edge of the seat, waiting for the release date. Usually the structure of a film trailer follows the three-act structure but it is of course, summarised. It starts of by laying out the premises of the story, then it drives the story further by giving quick cuts of the dramatic climax, as this is an action trailer it shows the shots of the fight scenes and the most exciting action shots, this is also presented through wide, high angle shots. The trailer usually features a piece of 'signature music', in this case its the mission impossible theme tune because it is the 6th sequel it is easily recognisable and the audience will be able to easily identify it. The last act shown in the trailer is usually a powerful or an emotional scene in the film, this is done in order to put the audience at the edge of their seat and make them want to watch it more now as they need to find out what has happened. After research, it is said that the average move trailer should be around 2 minutes and 30 seconds, this trailer is 2 minutes and 33 seconds. The reason why it is short is because the producers can't give out too much detail about the film, so they need to be able to condense a long film into 2 minutes, in order to make the viewer excited to watch it when it comes out.

The purpose of this trailer is made to sell and promote the film. After 14 years it has released the 2nd film of the sequel this would satisfy the audience as the previous film was left on a cliff hanger and as said before, the film had been released after 14years and fan members of the film would be delighted that their questions may be answered. Although it is an animation, it is identified to be an action/sci-fi film due to the elements of good vs. evil and the special superpowers all the main actors have. The film trailer is 2 minutes & 16 seconds long, this is suitable for a film trailer, as this is the 2nd film the producers need to be aware to not give out too much information and still hold in the suspense and unanswered questions for a while, but as included in any film trailer they need to show the fun, exciting bits. A music video is a short film or video that is used to accompany a piece of music. Music videos are usually created to entertain the public, usually the main purpose of music videos are made to promote artists, brands as well as the track.
Little Mix - Wings

This is a music video by little mix and based on the lyrics, I believe that it is made to inform/educate individuals who feel intimidated by others. The main target audience this music video has is for teenage girls, I think this because they are the ones that would usually idolise pop stars like like Little Mix and hope to be like them at some point in the future. After watching this music video, I don't think it has a narrative structure because it goes straight to the point of the message of the video.

This is another video by little mix, and it explains how a girl would feel after she feels like she has been cheated on. I believe it is aimed at young teenage girls who have been through this situation and/or are going through this situation, and is made to assure them that things are going to be okay with the correct mindset & right support. So in this case the music video is made to educate and inform these individuals. The music video has a clear narrative, it of course starts where one of the singers identifies that she has been cheated on and then calls her friends and they come over to support her, they then distract her and make her happy and show her he isn't worth it, so she needs to move on.
An ident is a moving image or logo that is used to represent a brand that is shown, this is usually done before a show airs and lasts for about 30 seconds. The purpose of having an ident is because it used to design and inform the viewer what channel they are watching. Ident also represents a form of branding, this is where the company will have their own logo and give the brand a unique image so viewers are easily able to identify it.
ITV 2 - 2008 Ident

This is a ident that has been made for ITV 2 in 2008, it is 30 seconds long, any thing longer as they are waiting for their show to start, so it needs to be quick and catchy in order to grab the audiences attention. The design for this ident is bold and colourful and we can see a lot of dancing, this could maybe give us the indication on what programme is going to come next, the use of colour of the costume used in this ident is very bold and bright so they have successfully grabbed the viewers attention. Usually the purpose of a ident is to entertain the viewers and due to the fact this is a eye catching ident you can tell they have succeeded. This is presented in ITV2 and it reflects the channel really well as usually the stuff they show on the channel is fun, bright and entertaining. The ident shows a lot of feet dancing, this can show that the target audience here is aimed at individuals that are interested in this aspect, it can also suggest that what they are about to watch next could link to dancing.
CBeebies - 2006 Ident

This is a ident that has been made for CBeebies. The purpose of this ident is made to attract the target audience which is pre-school aged children, as they would be expected to find this entertaining. In this ident we see childish animations, this would of course be entertaining for the target audience to watch as they would find it silly and maybe make them laugh. The bubble writing match the animations, this provides familiarity as it shows the young individuals watch they are watch, and it looks childlike so it would fill the needs to entertain the target audience. The ident starts of with a blue background and then turns to pink, this is clearly used to show the audience that this show was created to attract both genders. The tune is playful and upbeat and is mainly used to remind the children of what channel they are watching and the voice ver of 'CBeebies' is repeated a few times with a child voice, this is used to try and get the audience to join in with them making them active and entertained. This ident is childish, funny and friendly and fits perfectly for the pre-school children because the more they see this ident the more they would repeat the tune, creating familiarity.
